TRU Music uses a structured, trauma-informed framework to deliver music-based therapeutic activities. Led by skilled trauma-informed coaches, our program provides at-risk youth with a safe space to heal, grow, and thrive through the power of music.
Music works on a deep emotional and neurological level, helping to regulate mood, reduce anxiety, and increase overall well-being. Through rhythm, melody, and sound, we tap into the body’s natural ability to heal itself. In our sessions, participants are encouraged to express themselves freely through music—whether that’s through listening, creating, or even vocalizing—allowing for an authentic release of emotions that may be difficult to articulate in words. .
This program combines the transformative power of music with a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to support at-risk youth in developing emotional resilience, social skills,
Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students can use music as a tool for self-expression, emotional resilience, and personal growth. Through structured activities led by trauma-informed coaches, we help youth build emotional, social, and cognitive skills that foster long-term success.
Many youth face significant challenges, including trauma, stress, anxiety, and unstable environments, which impact their personal and academic growth. Music therapy offers a creative and structured outlet for emotional regulation, healing, and self-expression. TRU Music aligns with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and trauma-informed educational practices to enhance students’ emotional well-being and overall development.
